Jahmall Thomas

Coach Jahmall played 3 years of Varsity basketball at Gateway Tech under head coach Travis Lawrence, where he learned that basketball is more than just a sport. Basketball is a tool that teaches life skills, such as hard work,  perseverance and team work. He followed his high school career with 2 years at Florissant Valley cc and 2 years at Fontbonne University. While at Fontbonne he received All conference honors for highest field goal percentage and led his team in rebounding.  He also made the all tournament team at the 2010 Moody Bible tournament. Coach Jahmall believes that the key to good basketball is hard work, because hard work beats talent every time talent fails to work hard. He has been a part of the Hi5ive program for 2 years

and believes basketball never stops.

Renaud Lucas

Coach Lucas joins the HI-5ive Hoops staff with a very diverse and experienced coaching knowledge and background. He is currently on the Lutheran North Girls Basketball coaching staff. There, he serves as Head Coach for the Junior Varsity squad and Assistant Coach for the Varsity squad. Before joining the LHSN staff, Coach Lucas gained a better understanding of the coaching profession’s “off” the court responsibilities from his experience under Coach Carroll and his staff at Maryville University. A NCAA Div. II school located just outside of St. Louis, MO, as their volunteer assistant coach. While at Maryville, “Lucas was able to bring his intangible leadership qualities to the team which helped build relationships amongst players, inject the program with his unbridled energy and sense of passion which was reflected on and off the court.”-Kevin Carroll, Maryville Head Coach. Coach Lucas began his coaching career at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis as an Assistant on the Women's Basketball team. Here, he was able to help lead that program to its first Conference title, first two National Tournament appearances and first Sweet Sixteen appearance.  He lettered in Varsity football and basketball at Blue Springs South High School in Blue Springs, MO (suburb of Kansas City, MO) where he received all-conference honors in basketball. He finished playing his final two collegiate years of basketball at Harris-Stowe State University where he was named team captain and also selected as an N.A.I.A Academic All American each year. Lucas was a two time Thurgood Marshall Scholar Student, which is one of the most prestigious honors for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Lucas was named HSSU’s Mr. Brown and Gold for academic and athletic excellence and graduated from the school in 2007 with his degree in Business Administration-Management from its Busch School of Business. Coach Lucas plans to bring to our program his very strong and resourceful ties and experience with major AAU and Summer Circuit clubs/organizations in Kansas City and St. Louis which makes him a valuable asset to Hi-5ive.
